When Ginkgo Residential purchased Procore in October 2023, they sought to unify project management across ownership, acquisition, development, and management. As a self-funded developer, however, their operations didn’t follow traditional construction processes, making standard implementation approaches ineffective. After attempts with Procore and an outside consultant fell short, Ginkgo turned to Ascent for a customized solution—delivered on a tight timeline. Ascent first assessed Ginkgo’s unique challenges, then designed a tailored implementation plan. Through a mix of virtual and onsite training, we strengthened their team’s skills in Procore’s project management and financial tools while guiding the automation of reporting and operational processes. To fix this, they added Procore Financials and brought in Ascent to configure the system and train their team. Over 60 days, Ascent led discovery sessions, mapped processes, and configured Procore Financials to match DAI’s operating model. Excel budgets were migrated into Procore templates, cost codes were aligned across systems, and custom budget views replicated existing reports. Through process mapping workshops, DAI learned how Procore could replace spreadsheets, standardize reporting, and give accounting real-time financial data.
